Terms of service
COACH-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP
A. Josiane Paiement (the "Coach") agrees to abide by the scope of practice, code of ethics and confidentiality policy established by the ADAPT Health Coach Training Program[1 ] and the International Coaching Federation. Further information can be provided upon request.
B. The Client is entirely responsible for creating and executing his/her decisions, choices, actions and results for his/her own physical, mental and emotional well-being emerging from, or resulting from, his/her coaching relationship with the Coach. Thus, the Client agrees that the Coach is not and cannot be held responsible for any action or inaction, or for any direct or indirect result, arising from the services rendered by the Coach. The Client understands that coaching is not therapy and is not a substitute for therapy, if necessary, and cannot prevent, cure or treat illness, mental or otherwise.
C. The Client acknowledges that coaching is a comprehensive process that may involve different areas of his/her life, including health, relationships, sleep, work and leisure. The Client agrees that any decision about how to:
(1) manage the issues that can be identified through this process
(2) incorporate the ideas or information raised through the coaching relationship into these different spheres
(3) implement any change of habit
is the sole responsibility of the Client.
D. The Client understands that the Coach is not a physician and that the scope of her coaching services does not include the diagnosis or treatment of specific diseases or pathologies. Thus, the Coach cannot be held responsible for failing to diagnose or treat an illness, or for failing to prevent an illness in the future. If the Client suspects that he/she is suffering from an illness that may require medical attention, he/she will consult a licensed physician or other health care provider without delay. Only a licensed healthcare provider may prescribe medication. Any mention of medication in the coaching sessions is intended only to establish an exhaustive list of the medication taken by the Client, and not to assess the appropriateness of such medication by the Coach. Any change in dosage or medication is a decision to be taken by the Client, in collaboration with the person who prescribed the medication. While greater well-being and better health may result from the adoption of healthier attitudes and lifestyle habits, the Coach does not promise or guarantee that these will prevent any illness in the future.
E. In order to optimize the coaching relationship, the Client agrees to:
(1) communicate honestly
(2) be open to support and feedback
(3) invest the time and energy necessary to participate fully and actively in each coaching session
F. The Coach and the Client mutually acknowledge that they may discuss future plans, business affairs, client lists, financial information, employment information, aspirations, personal information and other types of private information. The Coach will not voluntarily disclose such Client information to any third party unless legally required to do so. In order to protect and respect the Coach's intellectual property, the Client also agrees not to disclose or communicate information relating to the Coach's methods, documents or other property to any third party.

In no event shall the Coach be liable for any indirect, consequential or special damages incurred by the Client. Notwithstanding any damages that may be caused to the Client, the Coach's liability under this agreement, and the Client's sole remedy, shall be limited to the amount actually paid by the Client to the Coach under this agreement for all services rendered, up to and including the termination date of this agreement.
