Perceptions & Communication - What's the Link?
Taking the Time to Listen to Your Intuition
An invitation sometimes filled with boldness
There are moments when something inside me — a quiet inner strength, an intuition — urges me to be bold and speak about delicate topics… has that ever happened to you?
I don't always know where it comes from, but when that little inner light keeps turning back on and resurfacing in my mind, I simply can't ignore it.
There's usually something important to explore there.
A recent example
It was that same intuition that invited me to take a bold leap last week by leading a group coaching session on the theme: “Perceptions & Communication — What's the Link?”
In the weeks leading up to the session, my conversations and exchanges all seemed to swirl around the words perceptions and communication . So I wanted to address these topics — delicate at times depending on the situation, yet so deeply important in our everyday lives.
How do you open such a discussion?
Although the core content quickly became clear in my mind, it took me some time to find the right way to open the conversation so that it would be both light and playful, yet deep and powerful.
Everyone has their own way
I certainly don't claim to have found the magic formula — there are as many ways to lead a group coaching session as there are coaches.
Mission accomplished?
I do know, however, that the session sparked many meaningful discussions on both topics. And even though the session ended up being longer than originally planned, everyone stayed until the end.
For me, that's already excellent!
One step at a time
Daring to open a conversation on this topic is already a step toward becoming aware of the impact our perceptions — and those of others — can have on our interactions and our way of communicating.
Your turn!
How would you define the word perception ?
