A Trip to Gaspésie… and Dandelions!
When you can combine work and leisure... you go for it!
Spending a day... on the road!
Exactly two weeks ago, my boyfriend and I left Montreal for the Gaspé Peninsula, where his job was taking him.
But the Gaspé Peninsula… it’s so far away! It took us the whole day to get there (with a few stops along the way to stretch our legs, of course!).
The advantages of working remotely!
While my boyfriend was meeting with a client on-site, I was able to work remotely from our hotel room—with the waves of the St. Lawrence River as my backdrop and background noise!
Magical! It was such a change from the car horns and city noises!
When work gives way to play!
Once our workday was over, we took the opportunity to stroll through the town of Matane and admire the simplicity and natural beauty of the area!

His undeniable attraction
As we walked along one of the city’s many hiking trails, I couldn’t help but scatter a few of the white dandelion seeds along the path when I saw all the white dandelions!
Its symbolism for me
Even though the dandelion has many symbolic meanings, to me, it represents:
Our inner strength
Our ability to renew ourselves
Our ability to touch what surrounds us, one egret at a time
A task that was more complex than expected
I thought I'd film myself in one quick take blowing on the fluff of a dandelion… but this little 6-second video actually ended up taking several dandelions and several takes!
It reminded me that tasks aren't always as simple as they seem at first, but that with resilience, trial and error, you always end up making progress.
Let our expectations go with the wind
The final result wasn't what I expected either… which reminded me of another important lesson.
Don't get hung up on the outcome you imagine; instead, savor every moment of the process.
Even though the video didn't live up to my initial expectations, we had a lot of fun filming the different takes… and we even discovered the “slo-mo” mode on our smartphones!
