Road trip to Gaspésie and dandelions!
When you can combine work and leisure... you go for it!
Spending a day... on the road!
Exactly two weeks ago, my boyfriend and I left Montreal for the Gaspé Peninsula, where his work was calling him.
But Gaspésie... that's a long way! It took us all day to get there (with a few stops along the way to stretch our legs, of course)!
The advantages of working remotely!
While my boyfriend had a client to meet on site, I was able to work remotely from our hotel room, with the waves of the St. Lawrence River in the background!
Magical! It was a nice change from the horns and other city noises!
When work gives way to play!
Once we'd finished our day's work, we took the opportunity to stroll around Matane and admire the simplicity and natural beauty of the area!
Dandelion
His undeniable attraction
As we strolled along one of the town's many footpaths, I couldn't help, when seeing all the white dandelions, wanting to sow a few of their egrets in my path!
Its symbolism for me
While the dandelion has many different symbolic meanings, for me it represents :
Our inner strength
Our ability to renew ourselves
Our ability to touch what surrounds us, one egret at a time
A more complex task than expected
If I thought I'd film myself in one quick take blowing on the egrets of a dandelion, my little 6-second video will have taken several dandelions and several takes!
It reminded me that tasks aren't always as simple as you think at first, but through resilience, trial and error, you end up moving forward!
Let our expectations go with the wind
The end result was also not what I had originally expected... reminding me of another important lesson!
Don't get hung up on the end result you expect to see, but savor every moment along the way!
Although the video didn't live up to my initial expectations, we had a lot of fun through the various takes and discovered the "slo-mo" mode of our smartphones!
Now it's your turn!
What do dandelions mean to you?
Under what circumstances did you take on a task that was more difficult than you had anticipated? To what extent was the result in line with your expectations?
